Dr. Mary Saad is an experienced optometrist with a strong background in ophthalmology. She earned her Bachelor Degree of Medicine and Surgery (MB BCh) in 2001 from the Faculty of Medicine in Egypt, followed by a Master Degree (MSc) in Ophthalmology in 2007. Dr. Mary completed a three-year ophthalmological residency at University Hospitals in Egypt, gaining valuable experience in corneal, retinal diseases, cataracts, and glaucoma, as well as performing numerous eye surgeries.
In 2010, Dr. Mary relocated to Canada and joined the School Of Optometry at the University Of Waterloo. She successfully completed the Canadian Board Examinations and received certification in the use of therapeutic pharmaceuticals for diagnosing and treating eye diseases. In 2013, she earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree (OD) from the University Of Waterloo and became a licensed optometrist in Canada in 2014. Her extensive surgical background equips her to provide informed counseling to her patients regarding cataract and LASIK surgery.
Dr. Mary is dedicated to delivering comprehensive eye care to her patients at Millcreek Vision Care clinic. She is known for her thorough and compassionate approach to addressing patients' concerns and questions about their eye health. Dr. Mary emphasizes the importance of preventive care and offers comprehensive eye exams. She takes pride in serving the vision care needs of families and has a particular interest in pediatric eye exams.
Recognizing the critical window for treating amblyopia before age five, Dr. Mary is committed to educating parents on early amblyopia detection. With over nine years of experience in the Meadowvale and Erin Mills area, she has built an excellent reputation within the community. Dr. Mary is multilingual, fluent in English and Arabic, and has a basic understanding of French.
